Welcome to Falconrose.
Our masques, hairpieces, and jewelry, are designed
and hand-crafted by artist Georgia Lambert,
noted for her work in oils, illustrations, and her
collector plate series, ANCIENT ELEMENTS.
Each fine leather piece is made one at a time, and
no two are ever alike.
Our story began at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire
in Southern California . A long time member of the
" Faire Folk", Georgia designed some animal masks for the
Falconer's parade. People liked them. People said
" Hey! You could sell these!"
Thus, Falconrose was born!
People always ask how our masks are made.
Here's the basic process.
*
Lambert starts with vegetable dyed, natural cowhide.
She designs and cuts a pattern, and does all the
staining and tooling. The piece is then soaked in
Magic Formula, and shaped by hand.
It is then baked at low temperature.
When the piece is dried and set, she follows
with a light touch of hand painted details,
(no spray paint or airbrush), and a sealing finish.
Finally, beads, bells, and ribbon are added,
as well as a suede lining on the larger pieces.
The beads and extra pieces are tied on as well
as glued, for extra durability.
*
Our pricing is dependant upon several factors.
First, the ammount of leather used. Then we consider
the ammount of staining, tooling,
layers, and hand painted details. All in all, the price
of each masque depends on how much
time and material it took to create it.
*
For wearing or display, your piece will give
you years of use. Do not get your piece wet!
It may be cleaned with a soft art brush to dust,
or wiped with a soft cloth moistened with a whisper
of lemon or mink oil. It is suggested that if you
wish to hang your masque, that it be supported
by two hooks on either side, rather than being hung
by the tied string. Over time, hanging by the masque
string can distort the shape by pulling the sides together.
If this happens, bend the piece gently back to
the original width with your fingers.

We thank you for your purchase, and hope
you enjoy your part in the growing family of
FALCONROSE
